Hello team,

Currently, I want to test the migration speed from VMware to Proxmox using an Intel X520 10Gbps card to see how fast the migration process is and how long it takes.

Could you please help me with how to migrate from VMware to Proxmox and how to check the migration speed during the process? Please assist me with this.

If you are looking for a file transfer speed, check the graphs on the host.
Datacenter > Server > Summary ... then scroll down to Network Traffic.
Migrate something.
Go look at the graphs again while its migrating. The difference should give you a rough idea of file transfer speed.

But that's not the really important metric.

You want the full start-to-finish time to migrate something.
The best way to determine that is migrate something of a known size.
Perhaps a migrate 50gb virtual machine with full virtual disks.
Time it.
That will give you a rough idea how long it takes to actually move 50gb, and I think that's the more important metric.

Thank you,

I have a Windows 10 VPS on VMware with a 50GB disk, and I’ve filled up the C drive to nearly 50GB. My task is to migrate it from VMware to Proxmox to check the migration speed using a 10Gbps network card.

The process I need to do is the same as in the tutorial video you shared, right?
However, I’m not sure how to check what migration speed I actually achieved. Could you please guide me on that?
