How to set up Proxmox to allow different subnets.

Greetings,
We have been trying to setup two subnets within the same proxmox but were unsuccessful. Ideally we would like each subnet to have their own NIC ports.

Like this:
192.168.3.0 > eth3
192.168.24.0 > eth4

But we are also okay if both subnets traverse the same NIC port. We are unsure of how to proceed. We have looked up bonds and installing vswitch but we were unsuccessful in our attempts.
Please let me know if there is any documentation that may help with this.

Hello Spookycare

We have been trying to setup two subnets within the same proxmox but were unsuccessful. Ideally we would like each subnet to have their own NIC ports.

Like this:
192.168.3.0 > eth3
192.168.24.0 > eth4

That works without any problems. It is true that one address (found in /etc/hosts) is seen as "Main" Proxmox address, but all features as web UI will work using the other address too.

The only one: when you have a cluster with more nodes for multicast traffic only the "Main" NIC is used.

Install Proxmox simply specifying one of the addresses - it will be assigned to bridge vmbr0 which contains eth0. After Installation you can change anything via web-gui as you like (eth0 must be connected to subnet you specified, if not you can change the configuration via console in /etc/network/interfaces and reboot).

Kind regards

Mr.Holmes
