How to replace failed disk

Hello,

I'm new to Proxmox and servers in general so bear with me.

I have a server with Proxmox that has 2 SSDs. I set up ZFS when installing.

I want to be prepared, so I'm wondering. If one of the disks fail, or start to fail, will I be notified so I can replace it? I have setup email notifications and they are working for other things.

And when replacing a disk, it's as easy as that - just replace it and it will rebuild? Does the server have to be turned off to replace the disk?
