Hi,
networking is still a new topic for me, hope somebody can help me with it.
My setup is: DHCP server with switches attached. Since all of them are just 1gbit I thought I make a separate connection from my proxmox to my synology nas. Both have a separate 10gbit card in it.

My goal is tho enable my guest vms to work directly on the nas over the 10gbit connection.

The Ai told me to make a subnet, I have chosen 192.168.8.x (my primary is 192.168.1.x), and add no gateway.

I did that all, they see each other but when I transfere stuff from a guest I still am on the slow connection.

Questions:
Do I have to gife a vlan ID?
Do I have to setup the vlan in my router?
How to connect from the vm guest to the nas over the 10gbit connection?
Would it make more sense to make a bond on both proxmox and the nas with both nics in it?

make a direct connection (without a switch between) and give bot a random ip (like class a) and then
proxmox 10.1.1.1
NAS 10.1.1.2
and then mount the proxmox to the nas via that 10GB network card
