How PVE sends emails?

Hello,
can someone describe me how proxmox sends emails?
How can I use my smtp server?
Ho can I change from/to?
Is there official documentation?

We use postfix as MTA, and we use the datacenter configuration 'email_from' as sender (or 'root'). Use the GUI at Datacenter/Options to change that.
