Hey guys,
I have a friend that doesn't have an other possibility then doing his backups to a USB connected HDD with proxmox backup server.
This server is also virtualized on the same host as proxmox ve is running. I know it is not recommended but he has no other PC for just doing the backupjob.
At this point everything is fine and working well for him over 2 months now.
If the only PC he got fails (hardware defect or anything like that) the PBS is "gone".
If he will then get a new PC and setup PVE and install a new PBS instance with the mounted USB drive from the previous PBS VM, how can we mount the files from the USB drive correctly to be integrated as it would be on creating a new datastore on an empty drive?
Is that even possible?
Ty in advance.
