Hi,

why do you what to use OpenVswitch?
OpenVswitch is only for advances use for user how to know openVswitch.
All common network setups can be done with Linux bridges.

Thanks!
I need to virtualize my physical environment.
Several pfsense firewalls connect to a switch, and Some PC connect to a pfsense.
So,I think, the OVS should be used.

OK i will try it.
but how can make a port mirror on linux bridge?
I need Capture packet on the switch.

if 3 vms are attached on the linux bridge, how can i only capture packages from one of them?
on the real switch i can mirror only one port to another.

Also, the OVS version has a problem you must add the mirror port to a VM what is not out of the box supported.

I would listen on the host on the tap device of the VM.

tcpdump -i tap<VMID>i<netid>
