On a virtual machine, DVD burner are see as cd-rom/dvd-rim !

I think you have to direct pass through the bruner as a scsi device. But I never tested it. (I only did it with a tape-device..)

first of all use the 2.6.32-2 kernel on the host - edit the VMID.conf file in /etc/qemu-server/XXXX.conf - add line scsi0: /dev/sdb or /dev/sr0 (the linux host cdrom device) - make sure that the host do not have access to the device (other vm's may have access to cdrom) - have luck
