I'm new to ProxMox (coming from VMware) and I was tasked with finding a way to back up my ProxMox hosts in the event of a host failure. I was wondering if anyone else utilized Veeam's Linux Agent backups to back up their Hosts OS?

I'm interested in hearing other peoples experience with using Veeam to back up their hosts, or reasons I should steer clear of doing this.

Our hosts have a lot of config that would take days, if we had to rebuild from scratch, so if Veeam is not the solution I'm open to other suggestions too.

I was doing this for a while, but Veeam has been broken on proxmox since they switched to the 6.x kernel.

Went back to my custom backup/restore scripts using fsarchiver and it works well.

Strongly recommended to test this method and restore to a VM before you rely on it. Reply back to this thread if you have questions

You could also test Relax and Recover (REAR) with the same recommendation
