Hi

Is any one using mail gateway for a high volume environment. I have around 22000 users with mail traffic of about 300000 emails per day.

Could you please share your experience

Am planning to use a 8 core 2.5 ghz dell server with 32 gb ram and 4 x 800 gb ssd drives and a 200 megabytes per sec network conn.

Is that enough?

Any other recommendations?

Also is it possible to archive every email sent and received seperated out on a per email id basis?

Thanks
Rajesh

Hi,

I do not have such thing but I have some though (as I scratch the subject)

Do not put all eggs in the same basket:
- if your mega-server is broken, it will take a lot of time to recover your service and data
- split your service (email stack) using at least 2 hw servers (better to be 3)
- if one hw server is broken then in worst case only 50% of your users are offline
- using 3 hw servers, you could use proxmox ve and virtualize your mail-stack, and you can also use the migration/replication/backup very easy
-as I know proxmox mail can be useded as a cluster mail
