hi folks,
i am running a pve setup on a hetzner dedicated.
the setup works pretty well.
now i am about to add a second public ip to the host NIC
on other systems i had just added a :0, :1 .... to create a virtual nic with specific ip settings
but somehow this is not working on pve
Linux 6.8.12-5-pve (2024-12-03T10:26Z)
pve-manager/8.3.2/
my intention is s/th like this:
IPv4-1 -> enp5s0 -> OPNsense -> stuff reachable on IPv4-1
IPv4-2 -> enp5s0:0 -> OPNsense -> stuff for IPv4-2
pve is not showing epn5s0:0 with "ip a" or "ifconfig" . instead the second ip is just listed under the main eth interface ....
if i edit the /etc/network/interfaces according to my needs pve does not load it as it should
erm what am i doing wrong ? : P
thanks in advance
( my setup is like https://schroederdennis.de/allgemei...ver-mit-nur-1-public-ip-addresse-pfsense-nat/ just expanded with 2 public IPs )
