Hello and thanks in advance for your help. I am still pretty new to this, I had a friend help me setup my first rig and I am trying to build out the new one the right way.
Current
I currently have 3-chassis for servers.
1.) Current PVE1 - i5 - 7th gen, nvme 1Tb boot drive, 3x4TB SATA HDDs bulk storage (plus 1 extra 4TB HDD [4x4TB total possible now] that I didn't have cables for when i setup)
2.) Temporary test rig running HexOS (Tnas Scale) with a 1TB NVMe boot drive, 3x2.5Tb SATA SSDs & 3x13TB SAS HDDs (using HBA 9211-8i), Nvidia K2200 quadro gpu
3.) shell system with nothing in it yet
Goals:
I have heard PM has issues with re-mounting SMB/network drives after rebooting so I am a little hesitant to host PVE for NAS/Media stuff. However, it seems I could build the Main Host with a boot NVMe and the 3x2TB SATA SSDs (zfsZ1) for Vaultwarden, NextCld, NPM, etc and then spin up a VM of TrueNAS underneath and have another NVMe + 3x13TB SAS HDDs (zfsZ1) for the TrueNAS VM. Then I could simply split out the 26TB as a few pools to do Time Machines 1 & 2 (1-2TB each), Windows Backup (8Tb), and remaining ~14TB for Media storage.
Can anyone give their feedback on this setup and make suggestions on how I should set this up?
Thanks,
Jake

Goals:
- 2 servers backing the main up to the secondary for recovery
- Need to back up 2x MacOS machines, 1x Windows desktop to one of the servers
- Media Server (Plex/JellyFin) + R-suite of apps + Audiobook Shelf
- Nginx proxy manager to route my domains accordingly
- Vaultwarden for pws
- Nextcloud for cloud-services
- Immich for photos
- Mealie for recipes
