Help recovering a hard drive after issuing pvcreate / vgcreate

I am new to Proxmox and I have installed it and have it running with one guest. I went to add an additional hard drive that was already in the chassis. I followed the instructions for creating a new LVM for local storage at http://pve.proxmox.com/wiki/Storage_Model in the section titled LVM Groups with Local Backing. I entered the following commands against the wrong drive that was an NTFS drive:

pvcreate /dev/sda1
vgcreate harddrive /dev/sda1

I am now not able to view the contents of this drive in my windows machine or mount it. Is there any way to recover the data that was stored on this drive?

Here is the contents of fdisk -l for this particular drive:

Disk /dev/sda: 1000.2 GB, 1000204886016 bytes
255 heads, 63 sectors/track, 121601 cylinders
Units = cylinders of 16065 * 512 = 8225280 bytes
Sector size (logical/physical): 512 bytes / 512 bytes
I/O size (minimum/optimal): 512 bytes / 512 bytes
Disk identifier: 0xf6a9c97e

Device Boot Start End Blocks Id System
/dev/sda1 * 1 121602 976759808 7 HPFS/NTFS

Thanks in advance.
