i am looking forward to setup 3 proxmox servers in a cluster mode. with virtual machines on ceph or zfs shared volume.

a web app and its sql database is to be installed on windows server 2008 r2 on the virtual machine.

now do i need a load balancer for this scenario ?

and do i need to seperate the sql database to a different sql cluster ?

and do i need a fencig device ?

and is it possible to take backup of the virtual machine from a ceph volume

Hi,
with virtual machines on ceph or zfs shared volume.
ZFS can only be shared if it is on a NAS and you use iscsi luns on the nodes.

do i need a load balancer for this scenario ?
It is always better to bring redundancy on application level.

and do i need to seperate the sql database to a different sql cluster ?
Different to what cluster?

and do i need a fencig device ?
Proxmox do not support fencing device yet.

and is it possible to take backup of the virtual machine from a ceph volume
AIK not direct you have to dump first to disk.
