I have been using proxmox for some time now and i decided to upgrade the from 4.4 to 5 for no reason. During the upgrade the installation failed because the no space availability. Not completely sure how there is no space since i dedicated a entire 120gb SSD for it. and the upgrade required only ~300mb. So now after many trials and errors nothing works and i was forced to reinstall proxmox.

But the drive in which VM is hosted is still intact and not formatted or changed? One of the VM is openmediavault and it has few files which i would like to recover( i assumed i had backed it up but i ended up missing it). So in a dilemma if this is even possible.

If anyone has idea please help..

If its not formatted or changed, then you can mount it as on Linux and as a storage in Proxmox
and then make a new VM and edit the vmid.conf present in /etc/pve/qemu-server
you need to point the storage of the vm in the vmid.conf to the old location
