I'm hoping there's a way to allow hard drive passthrough to a vm without needing to shutdown and startup the vm. In my case, I'd like to get away from having to reboot my linux server vm. Searching didn't return much info other than I need to shutdown the vm before the setting takes effect. Anyone have a workaround?

I think I'll probably just run a samba server on the proxmox host then instead of needing to pass-through to a vm.
