Hello

I'm a newbie in Proxmox but I want to use it in professional environment.
Usually my customers (now with vmware and veeam) has veeam on a VM and some external NAS.
With Proxmox PBS I've seen that is better to have PBS physical and not virtual with local storage to have better performance, right?
Wich is your suggestion for an hardware with 4 sata disk 6TB (mechanical), 2 nvme for OS and 32GB Ram ?
I prefer a small hardware beacause I've not big space .
My best regards

The requirements are documented: https://pbs.proxmox.com/docs/installation.html#system-requirements

Smaller hardware will deliver "smaller" performance. At the beginning rotating will do. After filling up with real data it may slow down until it is not possible to list the backups anymore. Been there, done that!

If you go for ZFS: one desperate countermeasure is to put a mirrored(!) "Special Device" aside of the striped mirrors of those four disks. This must happen early in the process as adding it "later on" does work but does not help.
