Hey all -
I'm not 100% sure if this is a Proxmox issue or something else but I figured hey, maybe someone else has run into this.
I have a VM server running in proxmox (8.1.4) with two drives, each is 220gb. The C drive is normal, 220gb, no issues. However the E drive, used for data storage, despite showing 220gb in Explorer, and in Disk Management, and in PDQ, and in Proxmox, etc ... is showing the drive as totally full and seems to only actually have about 60gb of space. If I run windirstat on it, it shows the capacity as 53.7gb. If I highlight all the folders on the drive and have explorer properties check it out, it shows the size is 53.6 (64.8 total on disk). It's like there's ~160gb of phantom data taking up space in this drive. I've cleared up about 6gb of storage on this drive by deleting some old data.
In disk management if I try to shrink it, it seems to think it can only shrink it by as much data as I've freed up.
I guess this has been an issue for a while now, maybe always? A few times I've had to log in and clear out temporary data and backups because the services on this server stop working when the drive is totally full, but I've only just today actually looked at it and realized there was an issue.
Any ideas?
