GUI suggestion

Hi all,

We are using Proxmox for some time now and are quite happy with it.

There is however something we would like to suggest for the GUI:

To give users a more cloud like feeling we would love to have the possibility to hide all hardware related information for some users/groups.

This means removing views containing hardware information from the navigation pane and removing nodes from the listings in the main pane.

We already did start thinking about developing our own GUI and using the Proxmox API from a separate server. However, when it comes to NoVNC this seems to become complicated.

So, what do you think?

Hardware information in the GUI (not LXC) requires special permissions/roles, so maybe that helps? I don't think that you can remove the nodes completely, but you won't see anything:

Hi LnxBil,

Thanks for your reply.

Maybe I was not exact enough. I know that I already can deny access to some hardware information in the main pane using roles and permissions. What I was asking for is the additional hiding of the (cluster) nodes in the navigation tree and in the search result in the main pane.

We are running a cluster with eight nodes and when we do maintenance or have an outage this is visible to all users.

Because we see no way to hide the nodes and their states, I wrote my post as a suggestion.
Maybe "feature request" would have been a better wording :)
