GPU PCI-E passthrough output question

Hello all,

I have a machine with 2 GPU's one on the first slot assigned to Windows VM and second GPU is dedicated to VM for video transcoding and etc. on the other two left PCI-E slots I have NIC's. My question is there possible way when Windows VM isn't turned on and GPU isn't used by the VM to be able to use this GPU to output the Proxmox host console because I just assembled PiKVM and I have no other free slots for another GPU just for the output?

Unbind the GPU from vfio-pci and bind it to the actual Linux driver. You can use a hookscript to do this after the VM shuts down. See this post for an example: https://forum.proxmox.com/threads/amd-rx-6650-xt-high-temperatures-when-idle.143056/post-642405

Sorry for the dumb question but is this suitable for NVIDIA cards ?

It should in principle work for any GPU (that resets properly) as long as there is a Linux driver for it on Proxmox. I stopped using NVidia but other people here have installed their driver.
