GFS2 on iscsi access from several VMs?

I need a bit of clarification. I've never worked with concurrent file systems but this seems the best way to solve my problems.
My objective is to share files via GFS2 between several VMs, the file system should exist on an iscsi target. It would make sense to me that iscsi be handled by proxmox instead of configuring it on every VM, then I could create an lvm volume on top of it and finally GFS2.
So I'd share the iscsi target, the lvm vg, lv and finally the file system between VMs, across 2 hosts.
Is this sound? Will the way proxmox ve handles iscsi and lvm interfere in some way?
Any insight is appreciated.
