Getting rid of the old NFS mounts under /mnt/pve/

It looks like Proxmox does not delete the old NFS directories.
How can I get rid of the old NFS mounts under /mnt/pve/ directory?
So far the only way I can do it by rebooting the node and then I can delete old dir.

ls -hal /mnt/pve/
d????????? ? ? ? ? ? temp-containers

df -h

ls: cannot access /mnt/pve/temp-backups: Stale NFS file handle

umount /mnt/pve/mount-name works.

unmount didn't work for me as the directory was not mounted.

rm -R /mnt/pve/folder_to_delete
