Hello everyone,

I need an HBA (IT mode) for my new home server project.
Is there an overview somewhere of which HBAs are supported by Proxmox and, if applicable, how long they will continue to be supported.
Or can someone recommend an HBA that will definitely be supported by Proxmox for years.
And can be easily passed through via passthrough to a VM?

Unlike VMware , Proxmox does not qualify specific hardware pieces. Proxmox is based on Linux Kernel derived from Ubuntu and userland from Debian. Therefor the hardware support comes from those communities.

Since Linux tends to be very conservative in removing hardware from supported list, you can be somewhat certain that if it works today, it will work in a year. Unless, of course, someone breaks it.

So your mileage may vary.

Good luck
