How do I get to finish it up from the login process where it says to login on my web with my ip address and what are the code I need on my laptop to complete the process and fully install it

Sounds like it is successfully installed. Use a different computer (on the same local network) to connect (via a browser) to the URL shown on the login screen to manage your first enterprise (clustered) hypervisor remotely. If you really want, you could run Linux command-line programs to do things (and that is useful for troubleshooting) but I would recommend the Proxmox web GUI (via a different computer over the network).

EDIT2: You do need to chose (during installation) an IP address that is inside your local network (and outside of the DHCP-range of your router). Otherwise you cannot connect to the Proxmox web GUI via the (local) network, Using the defaul 192.168.100.2 is a common mistake and also suggest that the cabled network connection is not working (or connected properly). Lots of threads about this on this forum.
