Ok, folks.

I have rebuilt my setup a half dozen times and have come across problems every time, so I wanted to confirm that the way I am setting up this environment was following best practices.

First, here is my configuration...

When I am setting up the cluster I am choosing the 192.168.200.x network. But the curious thing is when I try and join the 2nd server using the Join information from the cluster it puts the IP address of 192.168.100.x in the IP Address field. So I have to manually join the cluster by unchecking the "Assisted Join" option and specifying the correct address. I also make sure to select the Primary link of the 192.168.200.x interface and the secondary as the 192.168.100.x interface.

1 of the common errors I get is a "permission denied - Connection Error". But if I ignore this and refresh my screen, everything works fine.

What other changes do I need to make to make sure that this environment is truly stable.?

Thanks for any thoughts on this matter.

Interested in this setup, why 2 ip's ?

Do your switches support MLAG ?

Otherwise i would go with active-backup bonding.

Or is the second ip for managment / sync ?

Thank you H4RO for your response.

According to what I have read we are suppose to have a dedicated network for the CEPH/Cluster for proper operations. So I created a separate 10G network just for the cluster and storage unit. We are running all of our GUESTS via iSCSI to the NAS/SAN unit.

Am I misunderstanding something here?

Ok thats fine. You should be all set then, just check the output of "pvecm status"
