I would say 50% of the targeted spam I get is from legitimately setup Gmail accounts. Can I setup proxmox to send an email to the sender based on sending domain forcing them to click a link before emails get processed? this would happen for every email until I whitelist them?

This would be best per email address vs for all addresses that proxmox is receiving for.

@SBTech this sounds like a really bad idea. I don't see how you could do that. Maybe someone else had an idea...
You can setup spam reports but only for your users:
https://pmg.proxmox.com/pmg-docs/pmg-admin-guide.html#_quarantine_2
https://pmg.proxmox.com/pmg-docs/pmg-admin-guide.html#chapter_pmgqm

Users can get access to their personalized quarantine via the daily spam report or by logging in with their LDAP credentials.

You can additionally enable user self-service for sending an access link from the Quarantine Login page. To enable this on the Quarantine Login page, edit /etc/pmg/pmg.conf. See section Spam Detector Configuration - Quarantine for more details about the available settings.
