Sorry for posting in that old thread, but I have the same problem and it would be perfect to have this in Proxmox MGW.
Fetchmail just has very simple configuration options and does not support this. As posted before.
See https://unix.stackexchange.com/ques...mail-on-server-for-a-specified-period-of-time for further details.

Getmail makes it possible.
See https://pyropus.ca./software/getmail/ and https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/Getmail .

It would be perfect to have that implemented in Proxmox MGW so it could be configured through the webpanel.
Still it is possible to do a manual configuration and not using fetchmail.
Are there any plans to replace it in MGW? It would make it so much easier and would be highly appreciated.

No currently there are no plans of replacing fetchmail by anything else - fetchmail has been around for quite a long time and is used in many situation - so I assume that it will remain to be supported
getmail seems to be based on python2 - https://pyropus.ca./software/getmail/documentation.html#python3 - and while there is an adapted version by the debian packaging team (getmail6) - it does not seem to be too actively maintained
