Feedback wanted: lightweight NOC monitoring for Proxmox VE and homelab environments(Apologies if this is the wrong section — please redirect if neede)

Hi everyone,

I’m working on a lightweight NOC monitoring platform called OPSHOME NOC, and I would like to get some feedback from Proxmox VE users, especially from homelab and small infrastructure environments.

The idea is to provide a simple monitoring view for infrastructure operators who want to keep an eye on multiple systems without deploying a very heavy monitoring stack.

Currently, OPSHOME NOC is focused on scenarios such as:

• Proxmox VE host and VM monitoring
• Basic system resource visibility
• Availability monitoring
• Alerting and status overview
• Homelab / small business infrastructure monitoring
• Lightweight deployment and simple onboarding

My goal is not to replace large monitoring systems like Zabbix, Prometheus, or Grafana-based stacks. Instead, I’m trying to build something easier to deploy and easier to understand for smaller environments, where users may just want a clean NOC-style overview and practical alerts.

I’m especially interested in feedback from Proxmox users on these points:

1. What Proxmox VE metrics are most important for day-to-day monitoring?
2. Would you prefer monitoring through the Proxmox API, node agents, SNMP, or a combination of methods?
3. What kind of alerts are actually useful in real operations?
4. For homelab or SMB environments, what would make a monitoring tool feel “simple enough” to use?
5. Are there any common Proxmox monitoring pain points that existing tools do not solve well?
