I fail to install Proxmox 1.3 on my server and it produces the following error message :

Code:
Unable to create data volume at /usr/bin/proxinstall line 577

I tried to configure my hardware RAID from 5EE to 6 but it failed to install too. It also produced the captioned error message.

The configuration of my server :

Intel Xeon E5420 Quad-core X 2
Intel server board
Kingston 16GB ECC DDR2 RAM
Seagate 1TB hard drive x 6
Adaptec 5805 hardware RAID card

Interesting, I successfully installed Ubuntu 9.04 server edition (AMD64) on my server. It sees my RAID 6 too.

How large is you RAID?

I am running RAID 5EE and the total storage becomes 3.6TB.

I successfully install Proxmox under debian 5.0. I think Proxmox 1.3 install script has bug to handle the space larger than 2TB (according to threads in this forum).

debian will create a ext2 partition for /boot and then the remainder is under LVM (including swap).

I am running Proxmox under debian smoothly.
