I am a total newbie here. Just installed ProxMox 4.2-17/e1400248

Created 4 VM's and cannot get them all to start up. Getting the following error randomly when trying to start the Windows Server 2008 instances:

Error: start failed: command 'usr/bin/kvm -id 104 -chardev 'socket,id=qmp,path=/var/run/qemu-server/104,qmp,server,nowait' -mon 'chardev=qmp, mode=control' -pidfil and then I cannot read the rest. And don't know where to look at the full log file.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

please post one of the vm configurations

on the commandline type
Code:
qm config <ID>
(where <ID> is the numeric id of the vm)

the log is on the bottom of the webgui (Tasks)
just doubleclick on the task which failed

Dominik. thank you for your reply. It is much appreciated.

As it turns out, the host gave me a server that was much smaller than I ordered. So I was creating too many VM's than could possibly run on the box. That's why the errors and the shut down situation. I got the new server, installed PM and now everything is good.
