Hi People, I broke my wonderful new toy and need some help please.
Everything was working wonderfully life was good and i was feeling confident.............(Famous Last Words....Hu)
I was playing around trying to replicate a specific networking scenario, experimenting with bridging, bonding and multiple network cards and somewhere in the process I stopped the PVEDAEMON from starting due to the (Bad hostname 'localhost')
I thought i might get lucky by doing an upgrade but changing from 1.2 to 1.3 did not fix the problem so now i appeal to you good folk.
Situation now
Reboot the server I get warning "pvedaemonCan't create daemon"...line38
(This seems to refer to localhost)
I can still log in to the console although it does display an error
ERROR: 500 Can't connect to localhost:83 (Bad hostname 'localhost')
I can still see the Appliance templates and the logs but the others crash
[3140]ERR: 24: Error in Perl code: 500 Can't connect to localhost:83 (Bad hostname 'localhost')
Apache Embperl 2.2.0 [Sun Jun 21 11:38:04 2009]
I do not have a FQDN (i just made one up) and even though it was working before, wonder if this could be causing problems now?

ps.....even though the /etc/hosts file had a comment saying that "# This file is automatically maintained by lvm." i added the usual lines about local host
127.0.0.1 localhost
127.0.0.1 localhost.<xxxxxxx> localhost
and it seems to be working again, hope i have fixed the problem and not just fixed the symptom, time will tell ?
