Hi,

I have a question, is it possible to enable S.M.A.R.T functions when i attach a hard disk to a vm ?

I have an OpenMediaVault virtual machine where are attached my hdd to perform a raid0 for high performance ! All is runing fine excepting one thing : smart !

In proxmox I have the real ID of my hdd but in my OMV i just have a QEMU Hard Disk Drive and not the real of the disk.

I tryed these function with esxi and all was runing fine, i thought that with Proxmox it will be the same.

If someone has already succeed to enable these function, i'm aware !! :)

Thanks for your help and sorry for my bad english :/

So what do you mean by ide driver ? Have I to install this driver in my KVM OpenMediaVault ?

Thanks for your replie ! :)

Hi,

I come back with screenshots, i have search for ide driver but not found anything interesting.

So there is a screen about the hardware configuration -> OpenMediaVault

And there is a screen about OpenMediaVault attachment hard disks !

If someone has any idea.. :)

Thanks !

Why on the host ? I want to run my software raid with OpenMediaVault, i want that the proxmox host stays a host.

I tryed many solutions but nothing runs fine for smart :/

Yeah, it's what i did.

From host, i set :

qm set -ide1 vmid /dev/disk/by-id/disk[..]

Where vmid is my open media vault kvm id.

Would you have another solution ?

Best regards, Manu.
