I have customers running Proxmox 3.X on HP DL 380 G6 servers. It have worked well now for 5 years.
But now it's time to upgrade and I wan't to use HP DL 360 Gen9 E5-2630v3 (755262-B21).

Anyone here with experience related to this server and Proxmox 4.0?
Should this server play well with Proxmox 4.0?

Cannot imagine why it shouldn't work. It uses an adapted kernel, currently 4.2.2; AFAIK the same as Ubuntu 15.10 has and it is well proofed on different HW architectures ....

I can confirm that we are seeing issues with DL 380 Gen9's and the 4.2 kernel. Going back to the 4.1 kernel or 3.9 corrects the issue. I am in the process of getting a cluster setup so proxmox dev's can debug it remotely.

Our situation is a bit unique though as we use a large amount of cores and memory in 1 VM.

Thank you! Good to know. Can you update me on the process? Would be interesting to know what the dev's found.

I will update the thread if they pin anything down. I just provided the test cluster login information this morning. Keep in mind this issue could be specific to the CPU model in the DL 380 Gen9. There is a chance your model is not effected.

Update on this topic the kernel panic (NMI) is no more persistence on kernel 4.2.3-2.
The slow boot process in the VM is still there.

Problem fixed. New Kernel is available on pvetest.
