I have an issue with VM DNS and connectivity to the main network router.
The router acts as DNS server with local hostnames etc. and also DHCP server which advertises itself as a DNS server.
When the VM is using a static IP, I cannot ping the router, and it will not resolve DNS from the local DNS server, but IS resolving internet valid names.
When the VM is using DHCP, I still can't ping the router, but it is resolving DNS both local and internet valid.
Non virtualized machines on the network are all operating correctly (i.e. I can ping the router and all names are resolved).
I don't understand this, can anyone kindly help?
