Disk throttling effects backup speed

I noticed that throttling a vm's disk it also reduces its backup speed. I played with different limits and i confirmed it.
Is this behaviour expected? I believe disk throttling shouldn't effect backup speed.
Backups happen while kvm running.

Hi,
Yes this behavior is normal.
We use the kvm live backup, what mean we start the vm with the given config.
and then backup the disks.
