Hi,

I've learned that the pve kernel detects disk's that spin down / sleep and forces them to wake again.

I'd like my large data drive to be excluded from forced wake, is there an option for pve to ignore selected disks?

Basically, its a samba shared disk and if not in use, i'd like to put it to bed.

Thanks

Neil

This disk is not in there and I never made any changes to that config file.

Seem's, that if a controller that interfaces a disk isn't being passed through (or the VM hasn't started), the pve kernel assume's control.

This is confirmed by the disk view in the pve instance.

With my win7 guest (that usually has the sata controller passed through) running, the disk is removed from the above view.

So that config (in its current default state) has no bearing on the matter.

So, there must be (or needs to be) a way to make the kernel ignore non critical, or undefined disks, so they can go to sleep etc.
