Hi,
i am new to proxmox and installed 9.1.2. Installed some VMs and LXCs.
Now i wanted to passthrough a clean nvme 1TB to an OMV VM (Debian 13) but the menu point "Disk passthrough" is not available in a VM. In the other menue points i can not see this new added disk, only the LVMs from host.
So i used qm which worked and formatted the disk with EXT4 in OMV.

In my LXCs the menue point "Disk passthrough" is there.

Am i doing something wrong or what is the correct way to do or why is not there for VMs.

Best regards
Joe

In a VM the NVMe the drive shows as a PCI device (not a drive), once you find the correct PCI device (use the command lspci to list them) and then passthrough that device.
