DenyHosts on VM's too ?

I have installed denyhost on Proxmox host, I noticed some bruteforce attack on the VM's, perhaps I have to install denyhost also on VM's?
My VM's are behind NAT and I use Shorewall too.

vm's dont benefit from firewall settings of the host. So you have to secure them separately.
