Dell R720 and 10G NIC

Hello,

What network cards do you recommend for the DELL R720?

I was considering the Dell X710-DA2 2x10Gb SFP+ PCIe. But only the R740 is supported on the manufacturer's website. Or should I choose the Dell X520-DA2 2x10Gb SFP+ PCIe?

What do you have that works well with the Dell R720?

That's quite an elderly system!

I would go for whatever the Dell support site suggests. So, enter the Dell Service Tag into https://www.dell.com/support/home/en-uk (or your local version) and see what comes up.

You can go off piste and you do get full sets of manuals, for example: https://www.dell.com/support/manual...2F4D32-FFA7-4223-A683-AAB764561849&lang=en-us You will need to match your card with what slots are available.

Still running R620s and R720s and they work fine with Intel X520-DA2, you can get the real Intel NICs from eBay for $25/ea
