Hi all,

I currently have my, for now, one proxmox server running on a dell 1u r300 server and it works perfect. I'm running proxmox 3.1

Now i need more storage. so i found a used MD1000 from dell that would fit perfectly but it has only SAS support. Will this be a problem?

I have seen other post where people ask about a MD3000 or was it MD3300 also using SAS but no real answer was given.

I don't see any SAS option when i go to storage in proxmox only GlusterFS, RBD, NFS and ISCSI.. i would assume that SAS should be on the list if supported? how else would i import a SAS delivered volume?

And if this doesn't work or is a bad idea I would appreciate your input on a good storage device.
I need a storage capicity range from 20 to 30TB
Would love it if it supported 7200 rpm sata disks
And could connect though ISCSI or NFS
Speed is important so no cheap QNAP og Synologic :)
and of cause as cheap as possible and it would be ok if its a new box cause i would properly start out with 3 * 4TB sata disks in a raid 5 config and than scale as i need more..

THANKS

Hi Spirit

Thanks for answering...

so its more a question if the linux distro running proxmox supports SAS which i would assume it does :)

Thanks for pointing out MD1000 may not work in a cluster enviroment... i will have to check this before i but it :)
