Dell Compellent SAN - Speed

Multipath, iscsi.

All connected very stable - but the read and write speed are attrocious to both raid 6 and raid 10 on KVMs mainly.

I have ensured to use virtio for storage, network, etc but they barely make any difference over say simple IDE disk controller.

Missing something?

Hi,

I don't know your HW but Dell use at many SAN's a property multipath driver what is not available for Debian.
And if normal multipath is used the speed is very slow.

Thankyou for the reply.

I was not aware of that, I'll go through the wiki again and see if it applies to my model (for reference, SCv2000).
Other users - if I become aware of a solution I will update this thread.
