Hello

I have a weird problem.
I have two VM debian images that needs to be migrated to proxmox.
One of the VM image works fine with no problem in the migration.Starts up fine on the proxmox too.
But the other one has problems while booting it up.
It throws me with an error
Begin:Waiting for root file system..done
WARNING boot device may be renamed.Try root=/dev/hda1
..
..
..
Alert! /dev/sda1 does not exist.

I am totally clueless as to how to proceed. Can anyone please let me know the steps required to deal with this?

hi. no idea so far.
which kind of images they are? how did you create them?
from your post, some kind of mismatch between /dev/hda1 and /dev/sda1 seems to be in some config
you could try to boot a live distro and attach that image as not-booting disk and investigate where the mismatch could be, and correct that. maybe grub or the bootloader anyway?
