Debian 11 lxc on 8.1.10 VE

I had a debian 11 LXC on a previous v7 proxmox VE.
I then moved to another server with proxmox VE v8 which is based on Debian 1, and I backed up, and transferred the lxc from v7 to v8.

Till then, I am unable to backup that LXC. I think it has to do with the incompatibility between Debian 11 and 12.

• Is there a way for the lxc to be upgraded to Debian 12 without damaging the espocrm installation and the data that hit has on it?
• is there a safe way to duplicate the lxc so that I can test the upgrade process?
• is here something else that I have to check for the lxc to allow me to back it up?
• And lastly, if I create a proxmox backup server, will it be possible to backup the lxc there, or it will have the same issues with backing up?

May you post the task log of the backup job? That will help us to see why the error failed.

Yes, you can clone the LXC and test to upgrade the LXC to Debian 12.

To answer on the remaining questions, we to know the following:
- LXC configuration
- Where you are trying to backup the LXC i.e., (which storage)
- The error you get when you do the backup of the LXC.

I was trying to backup on the same disk that the LXC was.
I have a Proxmox Backup Server now and the backup process works fine.

I'l try to clone the LXC and try to upgrade it.
