I read somewhere that there is a patch available for those of us wanting to install Nvidia vGPU 19.x in Prox 9.1?
Is this true? I can't seem to find it anywhere. Also, are we required to wait until Nvidia release new drivers so that they compile correctly with 6.17 kernel?

That's often the case and normal with non-open-source drivers. We all have to rely on Nvidia.
I don't know if you want to rely on patches that "someone on the internet" provides.

The newer R580 drivers (let's say from 19.2 or 19.3 onwards, I think; we're at 19.5 now) compile correctly under the 6.17 kernel, while the R535 drivers (at least up to version 6.12; no one seems to have reported news on the more recent versions 6.13 and 6.14) don't compile.

But someone has created a patch (here: https://www.reddit.com/r/Proxmox/s/cYmX4PKxgX ) that makes the R535 v6.12 drivers compatible with the 6.17 kernel.
The patch code is duplicated, take only the first half.

EDIT: I was able to personally test version R535 v16.14 and can say that it compiles and runs under the 6.17 kernel without needing the patch anymore. Even more interestingly, it also compiles under the 7.0 kernel.
