CT with routed IP can't reach gateway or internet

Hi everyone,


I’m trying to configure a CT on my Proxmox 8.4 node hosted at Hetzner, but I’m running into a frustrating issue and I can’t get networking to work correctly in the CT.


Setup details:

Proxmox Node IP:
157.90.68.124/26
Gateway: 157.90.68.65

Additional subnet (routed by Hetzner to 157.90.68.124):
IP Block: 178.63.199.192/29

I want to assign one of the routed IPs 178.63.199.193 to a CT with gateway 157.90.68.65 but it doesnt work. The CT can't ping anything (not even the host at 157.90.68.124), ping 8.8.8.8 fails also.

Also info:
Host can ping everything just fine.
IP forwarding is active.
CT is a Debian 11.

Any help is very appreciated.

the gateway has to be in the same subnet as the IP otherwise it can't reach it.

so 178.63.199.193 is prob the ISP gateway and you set your CT to 178.63.199.194 or 195, etc
