I have CT with an added volume for data storage that is not backed up due to the large nature of data it stores.
I am wanting to recreate this container so that I can make it privilaged (system errors with unprivilaged access).
This is not a shared volume, rather, it was added to the container after creation.
its on LVM thin storage.
I have 2 options,
restore the container onto itself with unprivilaged disabled.
restore the container into a new CT #.
The help I need is in understanding how volumes created for one CT can be mounted onto a new CT.
When I restored the container onto itself, I realized I did not have skip replication checked, so I think Proxmox created a new volume disk and erased the old one.
Can a volume/disk created in one CT be mounted onto another?
Should the volume name be changed to match the CT # name?
pvesm did not seem to have a renaming option, so I assume I can do this with lvm?
I am trying to avoid backing up this disk as it is large, and I backup the data to tar with the software running in the container.
If I skip replication and restore the CT, can the saved disk be mounted back onto a CT?
Best regards.
