Crazy Issue after adding an extra GPU to my Prox Mox server.

Hi Guys so my Prox Mox server fails to boot now after reaching the grub boot menu just fine, all I did was add a secondary GPU that I intend to pass through to one of the VM's,

I've tried a few things I found on these forums but no dice,

Does it boot when you remove the GPU again? Maybe the motherboard disables your (NVMe?) drive (or SATA controller?) when you put a device in a that PCIe slot? Maybe you disconnected a data or power cable (to a SATA drive)? Is the drive detected by the motherboard BIOS?

No it doesn't boot when I remove the GPU. It originally had an Nvidia gpu (which is still in it (I added an older and fire pro you to it) the goal was to pass one GPU through to the vm (in this case I am running a retro gaming machine).

If I remove the amd gpu to leave it in the original config it gives the above error.

Then you broke or disconnected something. Since you did not tell anything about the drive you installed Proxmox on (or whether it's detected in the motherboard BIOS), there is nothing specific to suggest. This does not look like a Proxmox issue and you'll have to find out what happened to the drive. Just generic hardware troubleshooting like checking all cables etc.

See if you can check if all of the storage shows up in BIOS/UEFI or the controller.

All the storage devices are visible to the bios , and that's because nothing has changed storage wise all that was changed was the GPU(s).

Hmm... That is strange. Did it boot the first time?

Or as soon as it was plugged in, it stopped booting?

Installed GPU (AMD one) , Nvidia one didn't change slots. Powered up otherwise working prox mox machine and the error appeared

It seems one of the drives was indeed not plugged into power correctly.

I have another question though.

I have a vm with drives that are passed through to it. 2 physical SSD's however for some reason when I go to list my drives by ID, prox mox is showing this????

Does thios mean my data is corrupted , In the Prox Mox Hardware Tab my 2 drives are listed as :

I figured it out, for those that care I am using the Asus Z9PE-D8-WS motherboard and for some reason proc mox refused to let me pass through the ssds on the white marvel controller controlled connections on the board if I use the blue sata 6 ones or the black sata 3GB/s ones it works without issue.
