CPU Magic?

Ok, this is a really dumb question, but I am curious about this.

If I have multiple cpu/cores, but I assign only one core to a VM, will be the load magically distributed on all the cores, or use just only one?

And of course it's not possible to assign more cores than the physically present ones, right? (ie: assign 16 cores on a dual-core cpu)

I think just one.

It is possible, but you get very bad performance - so don't do that.
