copying vmdk to lvmthin

I've been searching for this and am coming up with blanks. I've got a guest vm that I created with VMware Fusion and want to copy that vmdk file to a virtual disk that's been created for it on an lvmthin partition.

Is there any means of accomplishing this and if so, how?

Yes, and it has been discussed in the forums in detail, it is just hard to find.

Easiest thing is to create a local storage, migrate as it is written in the documentation and move the disk to LVM:
