Console interface... over ssh

Hi, i'm Diaolin

Probably this question was already answered but i don't find the
answer .

I have one Proxmox 1.0 server in a LAN with multiple kvm-based machines.

I ssh to the gateway redirecting the internal server in this manner:

ssh -L 4430:internalproxmoxserver:443 my.firewall.org

The web interface does of course work well but if i click on the console
it says "cannot connect to localhost".

And finally the question: the java applet does take the server address from
the URL???
And thus another question: the connection from the applet will be done over SSL or clear?

If anyone has an answer

Forgotten: on the client side in the Firefox window i connect to https://localhost:4430

Yes, do you have a better idea?

No, currently not (ssl for vnc in on the readmap)

OK, but my question.
You said that console uses ports from 5900 to 6000 and then the
connection will be done from the applet to the server on the
dinamically (or not) assigned port.

In this case if i tunnel over the ssh port even the ports from 5900
to 6000 does the applet work?

I should investigate.

ok, today i'll investigate.

I'm teaching in a course with many persons, it's completely based on proxmox and i'm testing the connection from outside the lan.

Over ssh, obviously.
